Captain America sheild in Iron Man.

May 12th, 2008 · No Comments · Movies

Director Jon Favreau made sure to throw in lots of treats for the fans during the making of “Iron Man.” There is the after-credits scene with Nick Fury, there is the mentioning of the Mandarin’s The Ten Rings and now we find out that Captain America’s shield might have appeared in the film as well.

According to FirstShowing, during a scene when Tony Stark returns from the Middle East and is trying to take off the suit, there is Captain America’s shield sitting in the background. The scene takes place around the time when Stark says to Potts, “Let’s face it, this isn’t the worst thing you caught me doing.

I have seen the film in theaters and haven’t noticed anything, but according to several people, the shield is very obvious if you’re looking out for it. Unfortunately, it does not appear in the trailer, since lots of fans would have noticed it before the film hit theaters.

We recently learned that a Captain America film is scheduled for 2011 and is tentatively titled “The First Avenger: Captain America.” And since Marvel loves cameos from their other characters, is it possible that Captain America’s shield would actually be in “Iron Man”? Does that mean that the brilliant inventor, Tony Stark, built the shield?
