The upcoming August issue of TotalFilm magazine features a cover with the main character from “The Spirit.” If you’re able to pick up the magazine, you will be happy to know that it comes with posters from “Stars Wars: The Clone Wars” and “The Dark Knight.”
The movie, based on the classic comic by Will Eisner, stars Gabriel Macht as a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. Samuel L. Jackson stars as the Octopus, his arch-enemy on a mission to wipe out Spirit’s beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. And Mendes is just one of several lovelies in the cast. Sarah Paulson, Scarlett Johansson, Paz Vega, Jamie King, and Stana Katic all star as ladies that either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.
“The Spirit” is directed by Frank Miller (Sin City), who is making his solo helming debut. The new film is scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas (December 25th).
