ComingSoon has noticed that a movie entitled “X-Men: First Class” has appeared on a listing on Production Weekly, which shows which movies are currently in pre-production, preparation or active development. Also, the web domain X-MenFirstClass.com redirects to FoxMovies.com, which means that 20th Century Fox is behind this project.
But is it the rumored Young X-Men spin-off, or a movie based on an eight-issue mini-series published from September of 2006 through April of 2007, also called “X-Men: First Class”? Sounds like it might be the latter.
Here is the premise of the comic:
For millions of years, mankind’s place on Earth was unchallenged – until five young people paved the way for a new kind of human. While students at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast and Iceman taught the world what it meant to be X-Men. These are the hidden stories of the team that laid the foundation of a mutant dynasty!
