“JLA” starts filming next year

August 4th, 2008 · No Comments · Movies

In an interview with The Herald Sun, director George Miller (Happy Feet, Mad Max) has revealed that filming on the halted “Justice League of America” will resume next year, just not in Australia.

It was recently reported that the filmmakers were hoping to receive a large tax break for shooting in Australia. The government refused to provide that tax break, stating that the movie is very much American, even though Miller comes from Australia.

Miller was then hoping to move production to Canada, but the big budget film was very much dependent on the tax break and fans have been very vocal about their negative feelings toward the young cast.

As a result, producer Joel Silver was quoted as saying that the film was “tabled,” meaning that production is now on hold and the cast is free to work on other projects. That, apparently, is now over with as the film is back on track.
